English Composition 1

This is a one-year course on paragraph writing, mainly descriptive and narrative. Model paragraphs are taken from novels, short stories or familiar essays. In-class activities include writing, peer reviews, individual conferences, video watching, and sometimes grammar drills. Since expectation and needs may vary from student to student, we will also deal with sentence structure, word choice and the more mechanical aspects of writing like verb tenses and the use of prepositions and articles.
